Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa Mixing in Superstring Derived Standard–like Models
We examine the problem of three generation quark flavor mixing in realistic, superstring derived standard–like models, constructed in the free fermionic formulation. We study the sources of family mixing in these models and discuss the necessary conditions to obtain a realistic Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa (CKM) mixing matrix. In a specific model, we estimate the mixing angles and discuss the weak...

We examine the problem of generation mixing in realistic superstring derived standard–like models, constructed in the free fermionic formulation. We study the possible sources of family mixing in these models. In a specific model we estimate the Cabibbo angle. We argue that a Cabibbo angle of the correct order of magnitude can be obtained in these models.
متن کاملNew standard parametrization of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix.
We propose a new parametrisation of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa Matrix in which the approximations of the standard parametrisation, |Vcb| ≈ s23, |Vus| ≈ s12, are promoted to exact results. There are myriad possible parametrisations of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) Matrix V [1]. One particular parametrisation [2] has recently been advocated by the Particle Data Group (PDG) [3] as a “stan...
متن کاملRenormalization of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa Matrix
Using the on-shell scheme and the general linear Rξ gauge we have calculated the one-loop amplitude W + → uI d̄j . In agreement with previous work we have shown that the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix ought to be renormalized. We show how to renormalize the CKM matrix and, at the same time, obtain a gauge independent W decay amplitude. PACS number(s): 11.10.Gh, 12.15.-y, 12.15.Ff, 12.15....
متن کاملCKM quark - mixing matrix 1 11 . THE CABIBBO - KOBAYASHI - MASKAWA QUARK - MIXING MATRIX
Revised 1999 by F.J. Gilman (Carnegie-Mellon University), K. Kleinknecht and B. Renk (Johannes-Gutenberg Universität Mainz). In the Standard Model with SU(2) × U(1) as the gauge group of electroweak interactions, both the quarks and leptons are assigned to be left-handed doublets and right-handed singlets. The quark mass eigenstates are not the same as the weak eigenstates, and the matrix relat...
